Richardson Park Community Action Program
ABOUT US
History
In 1967 five churches in the Richardson Park community of Wilmington, DE agreed to pool their resources in
order to address some of the many needs of our families in a more organized and comprehensive manner. These are the humble beginnings of the Richardson Park Community Action Program (CAP). Forty-six
(46) years later, CAP has become a 501(c)(3) non-profit, faith based organization supported by an association of interdenominational churches. It offers a variety of social services, including a food
pantry, thrift store, emergency financial assistance and aid with transportation. The agency is governed by a Board of Directors made up of representatives from the supporting churches, members of the
community and volunteers from the corporate community. CAP is operated by a dedicated team of 18 volunteers and 2 part time employees.
